Tears look like little planets with beautiful landscapes of patterns and shapes. There are three tear types, one of which is Emotional. And each tear tells a story. Each tear is unique.

Dutch photographer Maurice Mikkers is fascinated with tears. His photos reveal the structure of tears at a microscopic level. In his images we see the crystallized tears, each one different, reminding us of the uniqueness of snowflakes.
